Becoming an ambassador with the East Midlands Apprenticeship Ambassador Network is about more than advocacy.
It is about using real experience to help others understand apprenticeships, while developing skills, confidence and professional networks along the way.
EMAAN brings together apprentice ambassadors and employer ambassadors from across the region who believe in the power of apprenticeships and want to help others see what is possible.
You can join EMAAN as:
-
An Apprentice Ambassador
-
An Employer Ambassador
You do not need previous public speaking experience. You do not need to be an expert. What matters most is a willingness to share your experience and take part in activity in a way that fits around your role.

Why become an apprentice ambassador?
As an apprentice ambassador, you are sharing your lived experience to help others understand apprenticeships as a real and valuable career pathway.
You will be helping to:
Raise awareness of apprenticeships in schools, colleges and communities.
Challenge myths and misconceptions.
Inspire others who may not see apprenticeships as an option for them.
Represent the apprentice voice at events, campaigns and discussions.
Benefits for apprentices
Becoming an EMAAN apprentice ambassador can help you to:
Build confidence in speaking, presenting and communication.
Develop leadership, teamwork and organisational skills.
Strengthen your CV and professional profile.
Grow your network beyond your workplace and training provider
Gain experience of representing your sector and region.
Feel part of a supportive, apprentice led community.

The commitment for apprentices and employers is intentionally light-touch and flexible.

-
Complete a simple quarterly return with just two questions about your activity
-
Take part in at least one ambassador activity per quarter
Activities might include a school talk, careers event, online panel, case study, campaign contribution, social media posting or similar. Support and guidance are always provided.

Attend online ambassador meetings taking place every other month.
-
Meetings last one hour and are supportive and informal.
-
There are opportunities to attend optional face-to-face meetings each year.
This structure allows ambassadors to stay connected without adding unnecessary pressure.
